I have 4 ram slots - Do all the memory numbers have to be the ... So I have 4 ram slots at the back of my hard-drive and currently 2 of them are occupied with 2x 512mb. I've ordered 2x 1gb and I'm wandering if I can have my memory like this 2x512mb and 2x 1gb for a total of 3gb ram or do the memory amounts (512mb,1gb) all have to be the same to work? I have 4 slots available for RAM sticks in my computer ... probably 4 because it says it will take up to 8 gb's of ram. most sticks of ram only go up to 2 gigabytes a stick so there would probably be 4 slots. it says it comes with 3gb which should be plenty for gaming and whatnot. what are you planning on doing with this computer? i built my own computer and only used 2 gigs and it's a fast one.
Sorry for the inconvenience caused, I understand that the RAM installed in the RAM slot 2 is not recognized. You may check if the RAM is recognized in the BIOS. If the RAM is not showing in the BIOS as well, this issue might be hardware related since the RAM slot 2 is not recognizing any of the two 2GB RAM.
